15-Year Veteran Re-Signs with Houston

NBA

Jeff Green reaches a new deal to return with the Houston Rockets. Entering the season at age 38, Green is in the top ten for oldest current NBA players. By re-signing to Houston, they receive a mentor and NBA champion, along with a role player who still serves valuable minutes. Green has played for 11 different franchises prior to this year, most recently with the Houston Rockets.

Last year, Green appeared in 78 games for the Rockets. With gas still left in the tank, Green has no plans to hang up the jersey. When on the court, he still shoots at an efficient rate from inside the three-point line and provides veteran IQ to the game. Green has a lot to offer as a teammate from his long tenure and a multitude of organizations that he has been a part of.

As his minutes continue to dwindle from year to year, his mentorship and experience are his most valued assets. Known around the league as “Uncle Jeff,” his locker room presence is felt among the next generation. Having Green in the rotation and as a member of a team can help in a variety of ways. Just a couple of years removed from a championship in 2023 with the Nuggets, Green knows what it takes for the team to take a leap to the next tier.
