25-Year-Old Safety Signs with the Rams

NFL

Since making the playoffs in 2020, the Washington Commanders have been trying to figure out their situation at every position. One position they didn’t have to worry about was at safety because 25-year-old Kamren Curl was steadily improving after every season. After a terrible 2023 season where the Commanders went 4-13, Curl became a free agent. It was just announced not too long ago that Kamren has inked a two-year 13-million-dollar deal with the Los Angeles Rams.

Kamren committed to the University of Arkansas where he played three seasons. As a true freshman, he recorded 53 tackles and five pass deflections in 11 games. In his junior season, Curl had 76 tackles, two interceptions, and two sacks. The 25-year-old safety was selected by Washington in the seventh round as the 216th overall selection. After signing this new deal with the Rams, Kamren Curl will certainly be looking to make his first Pro Bowl selection and help Los Angeles back into playoff contention.

Last season, the 25-year-old safety played in 16 games with the Commanders. Curl had 115 combined tackles, 74 being solo tackles, and 41 were assisted. He also had three tackles for loss of yardage, a sack, and five pass deflections. Kamren’s best game of the season was on October 1st against the Philadelphia Eagles. In a 34-31 loss, Curl recorded nine solo tackles, three assisted tackles, and a sack for a loss of yards. During four different games in 2023, Curl had ten or more tackles, two times Washington won, and two times they lost when Kamren did this.
