A Vision in Red: Is This Ferrari’s Year for a Clean Sweep?

A Ferrari driver has not won a World Championship since Kimi Räikkönen won in 2007. The team’s last Constructors Championship was in 2008, when Felipe Massa and Räikkönen placed second and third, respectively, losing the World Championship title to none other than now-Ferrari driver Lewis Hamilton. Ferrari is now long overdue for a success story. With a dream drivers’ duo, successful practice runs, and a positive team dynamic, 2025 seems like the perfect year for Scuderia Ferrari. Following the SF-25’s track debut in Fiorano, Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton are on a high, going on record to say the car runs well, with no issues appearing, making them ready for this season to start.

Leclerc had a strong run in the 2024 season, finishing third and helping lead Ferrari to a second-place spot for the Constructors Championship. With three race wins, the Monaco Grand Prix, Italian Grand Prix, and United States Grand Prix, the Monegasque racer proved he has the potential to be a World Champion. Driving alongside Leclerc, seven-time World Champion Lewis Hamilton has proven himself time and time again and is now ready to prove himself in a Ferrari. Last season also served well for Hamilton, where he placed seventh, with two wins at the British Grand Prix and Belgian Grand Prix. Although this is his first season driving for Ferrari, the English driver has high hopes for this season, especially alongside his teammate. Unlike previous teammates Leclerc and Hamilton, the two Ferrari drivers have gotten along quite well, proving the team’s positive dynamic.

However, the road to a World Championship or the Constructors Cup is not easy, and the team faces numerous obstacles. Reigning World Champion Max Verstappen will not easily give up the top spot, and he has no plans to stop anytime soon. However, the Dutch driver performed worse last year than in other years he had won, going 10 straight races without a win. With his disappointing performance, the Red Bull driver is off his game, opening the door to a new World Champion this season. Ferrari is not the only team with a chance to win this season, with McLaren drivers Lando Norris, who placed second in the 2024 season, and Oscar Piastri, who placed fourth, ready to win. Last season, McLaren won the Constructors Championship, which the team hadn’t won since 1998. Both the young drivers are on top of their game and could easily pull out wins like last season, keeping Ferrari on their toes.

Although the stars have aligned for Ferrari, the road to victory will be a long one. With 24 races between Hamilton, Leclerc, and a World Championship, Ferrari should start planning strategies to beat their biggest competitors. Last season, issues between Charles Leclerc and his ex-teammate Carlos Sainz held the team back. This season, with Hamilton’s skill and attitude, Ferrari is set to succeed. By focusing on communication, strong strategies, and teamwork, Ferrari will be a force to be reckoned with next season.
