Aaron Judge Is the Hottest Player in Baseball

MLB

The New York Yankees are without a doubt one of the hottest teams in baseball, if not the hottest. They are 40-19 and are officially the first team in the American League to have 40 wins as of Saturday. They’ve taken seven of their last 10 games. The truth is that everyone’s coming alive, but it’s looking like Aaron Judge is somehow having his best season yet. That’s a heavy statement given his 62 home runs in 2022, but you never know what the future holds, especially with the way he’s been hitting.

The month of April was probably the worst month Judge has had since 2016. Judge was hitting .200 by the time May first came around, and he picked his batting average up by .77 points throughout the month. Judge had 26 extra-base hits in May, which is almost one for every game the Yankees played. He hit 14 home runs and 12 doubles, and he’s the first Yankee to ever do that in a month. There truly are levels to how impressive that is, especially when you think about all the great Yankees we’ve seen. This month, Judge reminded us that he’s without a doubt a top-three hitter in baseball, if not the best. One could make the case that his only real completion right now is his fellow Yankee; the red-hot Juan Soto. Even when Judge was extremely cold, the Yankees were probably the best team in baseball. With him hitting the way we’re used to seeing, they’ll likely continue to be the unstoppable force that they currently are.

I’ve never been a Yankee fan, but this team is one of the most fun to watch that I can remember. If Judge can stay this hot, expect a lot more history to be made. The only other team in all of Major League Baseball with 40 wins is the Philadelphia Phillies. They only reached it a day before the Yankees, and I think both teams are at the clear-cut top of their respective leagues. I know it’s early for World Series prediction, but that sure would be something special. This season has been a great one so far, and there is lots of great baseball ahead.
