Another Women’s Midcard Belt Is Introduced

WWE

A few weeks ago, SmackDown introduced the WWE Women’s United States Championship. Qualifiers for this newly developed championship are in the work as we speak with the finals taking place at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 14th. Last night, Raw’s General Manager Adam Pearce introduced the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship. With there being many possibilities for the inaugural winner of the Women’s United States Championship, there are about just the same as there is for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship.

Just like with the Women’s United States Championship, we will indeed see a tournament to determine a winner of the Women’s Intercontinental Championship. The tournament will begin on the December 2nd episode of Raw, and with how things are playing out, we may see a winner crowned on the first episode of Monday Night Raw on Netflix. I think that’s the smartest and most business-like move here. A few inaugural champions in my mind would be Zelina Vega, Raquel Rodriguez, or Kairi Sane. Vega for the sense of her hard-working attitude plus her appreciation for her fans and culture, Rodriguez perhaps for story sake with Liv Morgan already being the WWE Women’s World Champion, it may make sense to strap Raquel with the belt. Sane, would be a fantastic inaugural champion and would elevate the field for Damage CTRL within the women’s division.

Bringing both belts to both brands has been a genius move. These are the two belts everyone has been waiting for. This not only elevates and hypes the stipulations for some of the women’s matches but also progresses and puts more intrigue into their storylines. I for one cannot wait to see who this inaugural champion will be. Who do you think?
