Are the Dodgers Going Back to Back?
The Los Angeles Dodgers had a great run to the World Series this past year and was destined with the team they put together. Their rotation was decimated with injuries and yet they still managed to throw it together to be able to claim their fame. Their lineup picked up at the right times with the trade deadline acquisitions being crucial pieces in their postseason run. They have been active this offseason to ensure they are fated to go back-to-back.
Their rotation was bolstered this past offseason. Yoshinobu Yamamoto coming back along with Tyler Glasnow are returning to the rotation from last year. Blake Snell was brought in to provide another star into the rotation. Roki Sasaki was brought over from Japan and has all the hype he needs. Shohei Ohtani will be back to pitching after his past year being used as strictly a designated hitter. Tony Gonsolin was hurt all last year but will be used as a sixth starter as many of the guys in this rotation will require an extra day of rest.
Their lineup hasn’t taken too much of a hit with retaining guys like Tommy Edman and Teoscar Hernandez. They added Hyseong Kim, another Japanese phenomenon who hopes to make a spark for this lineup this year. They have much-needed depth this year. With the Braves, Mets, and Phillies being their only competition, they should easily go back-to-back in the National League West. The Dodgers will hope to keep their success going with the top of their lineup being exactly identical.
