Bears' Week Six Preview vs. Jaguars

NFL

After a dominant win over the Carolina Panthers, 36-10, the Chicago Bears are set to take on the Jacksonville Jaguars this Sunday in London. The Jaguars have played in London a total of 11 times, and this will be the fourth game played in London ever for the Bears. This Sunday, we get to see two number-one picks of the draft face-off, Caleb Williams and Trevor Lawrence. Williams’ career is just getting started in Chicago, while Trevor Lawrence has been hitting major bumps in the road in Jacksonville. The Jaguars are coming off their first win of the season after starting off 0-4, narrowly defeating the Indianapolis Colts 37-34 on a late field goal.

In the last four times these teams have met, the Bears have won three of those, two of those being in Jacksonville. The Bears are coming off back-to-back wins and rolled up 424 yards and 36 points against the Panthers last week. While Carolina has one of the worst defenses in the NFL, Jacksonville hasn’t fared much better. Caleb Williams has been improving every week, which is a huge positive for the Bears. He posted his best game as a pro last week, completing 20-of-29 passes for 304 yards and two touchdowns. D.J. Moore had one of his best games of the season last week posting five receptions for 105 yards and two touchdowns against his former team. After the game, Moore labeled Williams as “bossy,” which is exactly what a quarterback needs to hear from their receivers as they run the offense.

Last week, the Jaguars offense finally moved the ball consistently as Trevor Lawrence finished with 371 yards passing and two touchdowns. Also, Jaguars rookie receiver Brian Thomas Jr. has quickly become a favorite target for Trevor Lawrence totaling 122 yards last week. Lawrence shouldn’t play as well as he did last week against a Bears’ defense that has been on quite a tear this season. However, the Bears do have a couple of key injuries as safety Jaquan Brisker is ruled out and cornerback Tyrique Stevenson is ruled doubtful for Sunday’s game. This is going to be a great game for Caleb Williams to mature even more as a signal caller in the NFL and for this Chicago Bears’ offense.
