Bucks Convert Ryan Rollins Contract and Sign Former Spurs Guard

NBA

The Milwaukee Bucks have signed Jamaree Bouye on a two-way NBA deal. They have also converted Ryan Rollins's contract to a standard NBA deal. NBA Insider Shams Charania of ESPN reported the news on social media earlier. “The Bucks are signing guard Jamaree Bouye on a two-way NBA deal, sources said. Bouye has played 14 NBA games in parts of the last two seasons, and averaged 20 points for the Austin Spurs in G League this year.”

Bouyea played at San Francisco from 2017-2022 where he began averaging 2.5 points per game and shooting 32.7 percent from the field. He ended his college career averaging 17.3 points, 3.7 assists and 3.7 rebounds. In 2020 Bouyea led San Fransisco to a 61-60 upset against Virginia and in 2022 had his career high game scoring 36 points against Murray State during the NCAA tournament. He earned his spot on the First Team All-WCC twice in 2021 and 2022.

After being undrafted in 2022, he was signed to the Miami Heat in 2022 and made his NBA debut against the Houston Rockets. Then signed with the Washington Wizards for a short time. He eventually went to the Portland Trailblazers on a two-way deal but was waived shortly after. In March 2024, he signed a two-way deal with the San Antonio Spurs, going back and forth being on the team. Bouyea has played 14 career games in the NBA, averaging 2.6 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per game. It isn’t much hope that he will get playing time for the Bucks. He is filling the spot of being on a two-way deal that was formally Rollins.

Rollins has been a good help to the Bucks this season. He has averaged 10.4 points and 39% from beyond the three point line. He has given the team a nice boost and this deal is a reward to show them how appreciative they are for his contributions to the team. Rollins will help with the team's depth while entering the home stretch to playoffs. The older players will need more rest, which gives players like Rollins time to shine. The Bucks currently hold a record of 34-25 and are looking for ways to contend in the Eastern Conference. The Bucks have been on a good roll lately having won seven of their last 10 games. Hoping to see more wins with the new addition of Rollins.
