Can Bo Nix Win His First Playoff Game in Buffalo?
With Wild Card Weekend quickly approaching, NFL fans now have a much clearer picture of which teams have a reasonable shot of winning the Super Bowl next month. Although all teams in the playoffs technically have a shot, there are certainly still clear favorites and underdogs to make it to the big game. The Bills have been one of the favorites to make it to the Super Bowl as the AFC Champions for several years now, but have come up short in recent years because of the Chiefs’ reign of terror in the AFC. The Broncos, on the other hand, are an emerging team behind their rookie quarterback, Bo Nix, but they would still be considered a massive underdog to make a deep playoff run. So, do the Broncos have a chance to go into Buffalo and pull off a massive upset, or will it finally be the Bills year to make a Super Bowl run?
Key for the Broncos: Win the Turnover Battle!
Sean Payton and Bo Nix have done a tremendous job at turning this team around from the dumpster fire it was a year ago. However, going into Buffalo and beating a Josh Allen-led team is a tall task. The Bills have a prolific and dynamic offense that is capable of putting up some serious points. The Bills offense is also careful with the ball and their defense finds a way to get extra possessions each game which puts opposing teams in a tough spot to find ways to win each week. Therefore, the Broncos need to find a way to win the turnover battle in this game. They take care of the ball on offense and force Josh Allen into a few errors. If the Broncos cannot find a way to get extra possessions in this game, it is unlikely they will be able to match the Bills’ explosive offense.
Key for the Bills: Let Josh Allen Be Superman
The Bills were doubted going into this season because they lost so many offensive and defensive players that were key to their success last year. However, they didn’t lose the most important piece to their success, Josh Allen. Josh Allen this year has proved that he is the NFL MVP as he took a bunch of pieces and elevated this team to become even better than where they were last year. Without Josh Allen being the glue holding this team together, they wouldn’t have half the success they are experiencing now. The key to this game is simple, keep enabling Josh Allen to cook opposing defenses any way he can. He doesn’t need to do too much, because that can lead to unforced errors, but he should be able to run this offense the way he has all season. As long as the Bills’ offense stays ahead of the chains, they should be able to put up a lot of points on the Broncos and force Bo Nix to play out of his mind to keep the Broncos in the game.
