CM Punk: Two Years After the Infamous AEW Media Scrum

AEW

CM Punk has taken the wrestling world by storm. It has been two years since the AEW media scrum. The aftermath made everyone wonder how CM Punk was able to get away with it. Once he opened his mouth, people knew things would not end well for him. When he first arrived at AEW, he was treated as royalty. He won the AEW World Championship, had his old Ring of Honor theme song, and had his own show. The honeymoon period did not last as he got fed up with his peers. What came next changed the landscape forever.

Did this incident work in CM Punk's favor? Yes. No one expected CM Punk to leave AEW after the company gave him everything he asked for. What ticked him off was his feud against "Hangman" Adam Page. Both men could not stand each other as they insulted each other in the ring. What also ticked him off after his feud with Adam Page was his feud with Jack Perry. Now this one caused a ripple effect. Fans did not expect Jack Perry to provoke CM Punk. Jack Perry wanted to use real glass. Punk was against this since it seemed too dangerous. However, Jack Perry looked at the camera and said real glass. There was a backstage brawl that ended in both being suspended. Tony Khan ended up firing CM Punk after the incident. Many fans were divided by the firing. The men included in the heated argument were CM Punk, Jack Perry, Samoa Joe, Chris Jericho, Kenny Omega, Nick Jackson, Matt Jackson, and Ace Steel.

The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega had their side of the story, while CM Punk told another story. What came next was CM Punk's return to WWE after 10 years. For the past years, CM Punk told everyone he would never return. He returned as a changed man. He apologized to Triple H, and his WWE peers, and thanked fans for chanting his name. The AEW media scrum changed CM Punk as he reflected on his past actions. His current opponent Drew McIntyre used this incident as fuel for his feud. Two years have gone by, and CM Punk will continue to have people talking about him.
