Daniel Riccardo Officially Out of Formula One

The Aussie driver, Daniel Riccardo, has been replaced by Liam Lawson for the remainder of the season. The VCARB driver has been ridiculed with persistent questioning as to his potential exit post-Singapore. Now it looks like those questions have turned into answers. Daniel Riccardo will be leaving the sport after 14 years with a seat. Not only has he become a fan favorite driver due to Netflix’s Drive to Survive, but he was also a point earner, having claimed 1329 points throughout his career.

Daniel Riccardo has had a great career as a driver with a total of 32 podium finishes, eight wins, and 257 race starts, making him one of the more seasoned drivers on the grid this year. He ended his career at Red Bull’s junior team, VCARB, a poetic finish for the man who started his most successful career stint at Red Bull. Throughout his time in F1, he raced for Toro Rosso, VCARB, Red Bull, McLaren, Renault, and HRT. His replacement, Liam Lawson, has already signed a contract throughout the 2025 season.

Social Media came quick to praise the driver, with many stating “Forever Honey Badger,” the nickname of the former Red Bull driver. In addition, fellow Drivers such as Lewis Hamilton, George Russell, and Charles Leclerc posted a response to the news on their personal accounts. With his loud personality and always upended attitude towards driving, Daniel Riccardo will be a noticeable absence from the F1 scene. With no plans being announced yet, we'll have to wait and see what the Honey Badger does next.
