Ex-Cowboy Now Signs with the Raiders

NFL

After spending six seasons with the Dallas Cowboys, on March 15th, wide receiver Michael Gallup was released by the team. He was a solid piece for the Cowboys offense, and even in 2019, he had more than 1,000 receiving yards. Gallup has been searching for a team that has the opportunity to go deep into the NFL playoffs. Well, yesterday the ex-Cowboy just signed a one-year deal with the Las Vegas Raiders.

Michael Gallup played two seasons of college ball at Butler Community College before transferring to Colorado State University. He started slow with the Rams but started to put the pieces together by his third game of the season. The future ex-Cowboy went on to finish his career at Colorado State with multiple achievements held to his name. First, he had three of the top eight single-game all-time receiving performances in school history and four of the top ten games in school history for receptions. Gallup ranked second in single-season receiving only player in school history to catch three or more touchdowns three times, the record for single-season receptions, and finally, he had the second-best single-season receiving yards record. The Dallas Cowboys selected Gallup as the 81st overall pick during the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft.

The ex-Cowboys played in all 17 games for Dallas last season. He recorded 34 receptions for 418 receiving yards and two touchdowns. His best game of the season was during Week Three in a matchup against the Arizona Cardinals. Gallup recorded six receptions for 92 yards in a 28-16 loss. Hopefully, with the Raiders the ex-Cowboy regains his potential for another 1,000-yard season.
