Fantasy Football: Five Quarterbacks I’m Not Leaving Drafts Without

NFL

The hardest position to scout in Fantasy Football is arguably the quarterback position. Besides Josh Allen, no other quarterback finishes consistently in the top five in PPR formats. This year a common strategy being used is to wait for a quarterback to fall later in drafts unless you can get Josh Allen. If you will use this QB strategy, this article is for you. Here are the five quarterbacks I am leaving fantasy drafts with.

5. Kyler Murray, Arizona Cardinals -

Kyler Murray has finished in the top 10 for quarterbacks three times in five years. In his first three years, he finished as the  QB6, QB3, and QB10. His talent has never been the issue, the problem with Murray was his injuries and the talent surrounding him. Murray is entering this season 100% healthy and now has plenty of good targets like Marvin Harrison Jr., Trey McBride, and Zay Jones. Murray missed the first nine games last season, tanking his QB finish but in the weeks he did play he finished as the QB9. The rushing upside from Murray mixed in with the amount of pass attempts the Cardinals will have due to trailing in games, he is looking like a potential top-five fantasy quarterback.

4. Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys -

Dak Prescott is coming off an MVP-caliber season, yet he currently comes off the board as the QB9 in fantasy drafts. Since 2019, Dak has played in 15 or more games three times. In those three seasons, he finished as the QB2, QB8, and QB3. When healthy Dak is a guarantee to finish in the top 10. Another reason I love Dak this year is because of how poor the Cowboys' running game will be this year. Last season the Cowboys ranked 15th in rushing yards per game and they are projected to be even worse this year. The Cowboys will be extremely pass-heavy this year giving Dak a good chance of repeating his 36 passing touchdown season. If the Cowboys bring back CeeDee Lamb you should buy all the Dak stock you can.

3. Jayden Daniels, Washington Commanders -

In his limited preseason debut, Jayden Daniels showed a glimpse of what he can be this season. The rookie quarterback went 2-3, throwing for 45 yards and scoring a rushing touchdown. Many analysts are comparing Daniels to second-year quarterback Anthony Richardson. Both great athletes are capable of huge fantasy weeks if they can steal a touchdown or two from the running backs. Daniels's situation is the worst of any player on the list but his rushing upside is the best of anyone on the list. I would recommend drafting Jayden Daniels and pairing him with a veteran quarterback while Daniels gets accustomed to the NFL. Players like Aaron Rodgers, Jared Goff, and Kirk Cousins are constantly falling out of the top 12 quarterbacks so they should be easy to acquire.

2. Jordan Love, Green Bay Packers -

The Packers might have done it again. Jordan Love was one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL last season finishing top 10 in passing yards and number two in passing touchdowns. Love has one of the best offensive-minded head coaches in the NFL Mike LaFleur and it is safe to say that the Packers will be in the discussion for best offenses in the NFL. In his first full season as a starter Love finished as the QB7 even with the mediocre start to the season he had. If Love can pick up where he left off towards the end of last season, expect MVP-like numbers from him.

1. Caleb Williams, Chicago Bears -

Caleb Williams is one of the most highly touted prospects of all time, and he has the best year-one situation of any quarterback drafted number one. Williams is stepping into a situation where he has the best Wide receiver trio in the league with DJ.Moore,Keenan Allen and Rome Odunze. Williams also has a top-20 running back in D’Andre Swift and a capable tight end in Cole Kmet. In his NFL preseason debut, Williams went 4-7, throwing for 95 yards and rushing for 13. He showed great pocket presence and made some Mahomes-esque plays. There is no ceiling for Williams in fantasy football. If he can be better than Stroud was as a rookie, Williams will finish in the top 10 and become the steal of your fantasy drafts.
