Four Running Backs Scheduled for Top 30 Visits with Dallas

NFL

The Dallas Cowboys are beginning to schedule their top 30 visits with the draft approaching on April 25th. Dallas still has several needs that need to be filled before Week One, and a major one is the running back position. The Cowboys signed two free-agent running backs in Miles Sanders and Javonte Williams. Although they still need a young runner to add some much-needed juice to their run game. Let’s take a look at the four running backs the team has scheduled visits for.

Omarion Hampton, North Carolina

Omarion Hampton is a six-foot-one, 220-pound running back out of Chapel Hill. Hampton has great acceleration and long speed despite being a bigger back. If Dallas were to target Hampton in the draft, it would likely have to be in Round One. The Cowboys have the 12th overall pick, and while that may seem high for a running back, Ashton Jeanty seems like a lock in the top ten and that could pave the way for two running backs to be taken in the top half of the draft.

Quinshon Judkins, Ohio State

Another running back the Cowboys are scheduled to visit with is Ohio State's Quinshon Judkins. Judkins finished his junior season with 1,000 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns on the ground. He has ideal size at six feet, 219 pounds, and has elite contact balance as a power runner. The only concern with Judkins, who would likely be a Round Two target for the Cowboys, is that his skillset may clash with the abilities of Javonte Williams instead of complementing them.

TreVeyon Henderson, Ohio State

Judkin’s teammate, TreVeyon Henderson, may be a better fit for Dallas. Henderson was the lightning in a two-headed backfield at Ohio State last season. Generating 1,000 yards on the ground while also tallying 27 receptions and almost 300 yards through the air. Henderson brings elite burst and long speed that is currently missing in the Dallas backfield. The Ohio State product would likely be available in Round Two or Three of the NFL Draft.

Bhayshul Tuten, Virginia Tech

Bhayshul Tuten has been a late riser in this draft process after running a 4.32 40-yard dash, which was the fastest among running backs. Tuten is one of the many talented running backs in this class, and while there are question marks regarding his competition and level of play at Virginia Tech, the traits are certainly visible. The former Hokie had 17 total touchdowns last season. Tuten would likely be available in one of the middle rounds of the NFL Draft in April.
