Get to Know Your Rookies: All About Isack Hadjar
Get to know the F1 2025 season rookies, starting with the 20-year-old Parisian driver for Visa Cash App Racing Bulls, Isack Hadjar. Hadjar was born and raised in Paris to an Algerian family and began his kart racing journey at the early age of seven. Yassine Hadjar, his father, was the driver’s kart mechanic in the early stages of his racing career. He then began competitive kart racing in 2012. After he competed in national championships, Hadjar then made his way to the international racing scene in 2017. He competed in the 2018 Karting World Championship and ended up finishing in 22nd place. He did get noticed by the racing world, as he went on to graduate to Junior Formula E in 2019 after debuting with the Ginetta Junior Winter Series with competitive racing for sports cars.
Being the last driver to be announced for the 2025 Formula 1 season, he has certainly made a mark for himself so far. He built himself a great amount of karting experience as he reached the top step of the podium during his first full season in single-seater competitions. He even ended up in the top-three classification in his second season. With such a strong foundation during the French F4, Hadjar continued honing his skills in the Formula Regional European and the F3 Asian series in 2021. He then continues on to become a strong member of the Red Bull Junior Team.
Red Bull stuck by the rookie and gave him wonderful opportunities to practice in F1 outings with AlphaTauri, as well as the senior team at the Mexican and Abu Dhabi locations. He then got a chance to race in F2, and all of his amazing work paid off as he ended up winning four races and earning four additional podiums! Hadjar worked hard for his position in F1 and was thankfully recognized accordingly, as he truly did earn his place next to Yuki Tsunoda in Visa Cash App Racing Bulls. Who knows who will take the driver's seat since Tsunoda is now replacing Liam Lawson at Oracle Red Bull Racing, but for certain, Hadjar can handle whoever his new teammate is! Make sure to watch him fly in the upcoming Japanese Grand Prix!
