Giants Rookie Wideout Hits Major Milestone in Breakout Season
Malik Nabers has made history for the New York Giants. The Giants team itself hasn't given its fans much to cheer about this season, and going into this game against the Indianapolis Colts; no one thought that they were actually going to put up a fight. Nabers has really shown the kind of player he can be, and in his rookie season, he has done it all. Nabers has broken records all across the board. It was expected of him after his days in college, where he had nearly the fastest legs on the field, and he still does. The biggest and most recent one he managed to break in the NFL is going for 1,000 yards receiving in his rookie season.
In this game, he only needed 31 more yards to break the record. In the opening quarter, Nabers went for a 31-yard receiving touchdown. The rookie season milestone set by Nabers was an explosive play that the Giants have been searching for all season. Nabers has always been the quickest one, but they have been struggling to get the ball into his hands. This game was finally the day. However, it is very late in the season for it to make a difference in where they land playoff-wise.
Nabers is not the only one to break 1,000 yards this season. However, he and Tyrone Tracy Jr. have combined to make them the third rookie duo in NFL history to make this happen. The Giants knew what they were doing when they picked both of them to play this season. Nabers also broke one of the Giants franchise records with a total of 91 catches so far this season. This record had both been shared by Saquon Barkley and Odell Beckham Jr.
Nabers has what it takes to be a Giant and what they have been looking for all season. He’s their guy, and there is no other person that they should turn to. He wants to play and has proven that he can do what they need him to do. He knows how to move the ball down the field, which is what makes him as great as he is.
