Giants to Retain Front Office and Coaching Staff

NFL

The regular season came to an end as of Sunday evening. All 32 teams from around the league have started making decisions on what their front end and their coaching staff will look like for their next season. Several, such as New England Patriots head coach Jared Mayo and the Jaguars coach Doug Peterson, were fired immediately following their last games. However, the Giants have decided to be different from everyone, and even after a huge disaster of a season, they have decided to keep both their front office and coaching staff.

It was announced early Monday morning by the owner and president, John Mara, and the chairperson, Steve Tisch, that they are keeping both Head Coach Brian Daboll and General Manager Joe Schoen. They believe that they will keep the vision that the Giants are looking for. It’s been something that has been questionable and up in the air for the Giants this year, and it comes as a surprise why the Giants are keeping them.

Fans are not thrilled but the Giants usually have a plan up their sleeve. This one may or may not work out in their favor. Daboll and Schoen have had their moments and often found themselves in the hot seat for this year. This year was a complete mess; no matter what they did, things backfired on them, and when it did try to go the right way, it went completely wrong. The only great thing they really did this year was draft Malik Nabers onto the team and a few others, such as Tyrone Tracy Jr., who broke records.

They have not made very good decisions for the Giants this past season or in previous seasons. However, things did seem promising by the end of the season when they played the Colts and when the Giants did pull it together. These two have their work cut out for them. Next season, they won’t be working with as many rookies and a young team. It’s going to take a while for the Giants to be playoff or even Super Bowl-worthy again. Schoen and Daboll just need to make the right decisions for the Giants going forward, and hopefully, things will be better in the coming year.
