Career Summary

Henley turned professional in 2011 and joined the PGA Tour in 2013. He has a total of four PGA Tour wins and zero Major wins. His tour wins came at the 2013 Sony Open in Hawaii, the 2014 Honda Classic, the 2017 Shell Houston Open, and the 2022 World Wide Technology Championship. In 293 events played, the 35-year-old made the cut 211 times, finished runner-up four times, finished third four times, finished top five 26 times, and finished top 10 50 times. Despite no wins in 2024, Henley did have a great 2024, missing the cut just once in 19 events played, finishing in the top 10 seven times, and having 11 top 25 finishes. His Major record has been mediocre at best with his best finish coming at the 2023 Masters where he finished tied for fourth. In 39 Major events played he missed the cut 12 times, finished top five twice, finished top 10 three times, and finished in the top 25 just 13 times. He has no U.S. Ryder Cup appearances and was on the 2024 U.S. President’s Cup Team. The Georgia Bulldog is currently ranked 16th in strokes gained total, 119th in strokes gained off the tee, 24th in strokes gained on approach, 98th in strokes gained around the green, and 23rd in strokes gained putting. He is currently the 14th-ranked player on the official world golf rankings.

2025 Expectations

Henley has played in three tour events so far in 2025. He played the Sentry in Hawaii where he finished tied for 30th, the Sony Open in Hawaii where he finished tied for 10th, and the AT$T Pebble Beach Pro-Am in California where he finished tied for fifth. If Henley can continue to strike the ball as well and as consistently as he did in 2024, he’ll undoubtedly get into the winner’s circle again. Despite no wins in 2024, he was consistently near the top of leaderboards and gave himself a chance, which is how he was able to make the U.S. President’s Cup Team, if his consistent play continues, he should find himself on the 2025 U.S. Ryder Cup Team at Bethpage. The expectations for Russell Henley’s 2025 for the remainder of the season are at least one tour win, finishing in the top 10 at one or more of the Majors, making the U.S. Ryder Cup Team via Captain’s Pick, and finishing a top 20 player on the official world golf rankings.
