Hawks Overcome Steph Curry’s 60 Points in Overtime Win

NBA

Yesterday, in a thrilling overtime matchup in Atlanta, Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry dropped 60 points, but ultimately the Warriors could not get the best out of the rest of the team, as they fell 141-134 to the Hawks. Golden State is now at a 21-25 record, 12th in the Western Conference. This is a big win for Atlanta as they sit at 22-27, tenth in the East. While there is still time left in the season, the Warriors need to find answers and fast before it’s too late. Let’s look at how Curry managed to score 60 points, yet the Warriors still lost.

After two-quarters of play, Curry had 19 points, yet he was clearly on a mission to help this Golden State team get a win with this game tied up at 64. During the second half, Steph recorded 33 points on 13 for 21 shooting and five for 11 from the field. Even then, the Warriors could not find a way to sustain a run or let down an Atlanta run. In overtime, Stephen Curry had eight points, while his teammates Klay Thompson and Draymond Green could not score at all. Overall, in 41 minutes of action, Stephen Curry finished with 60 points, six rebounds, four assists, and a block.

Warriors coach Steve Kerr, "Steph was incredible. What a performance. I just feel so bad for him and for our guys because they are battling... Steph was sublime." Hawks point guard Trae Young said, "I'm just glad our team got the win. Steph was going in that second half. He got up to 50, wherever he was going, and in overtime, we got a few more stops, got some rebounds, and made a few more plays.” Can the Warriors find the answers?
