How Past Veterans Influenced Present Wrestlers

WWE

Most wrestlers are influenced by past wrestlers. They have made their wrestling career dedicated to past veterans or influenced by them. An example would be L.A. Knight. His gimmick is influenced by The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin. When he speaks, his promos are often compared to The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin. His wrestling gear is another example of being influenced by Stone Cold Steve Austin. The Rock has influenced wrestlers to entertain fans with the way they talk. Entertaining fans should be number one when it comes to pro wrestling. It's why many past veterans like to give advice to the current roster.

Chad Gable and Jason Jordan saw Kurt Angle as their biggest inspiration. As former amateur wrestlers, they have mentioned how Kurt Angle influenced their wrestling style and life. They both used the ankle lock on their opponents. Jason Jordan used to wrestle until a career-ending injury. However, he found his time with Kurt Angle an influential one. Another wrestler most influenced is Eddie Guerrero. Mercedes Moné, Dominik Mysterio, and Rey Mysterio are a few influenced by him. His catchphrase has influenced many wrestlers to use his taunts or moves. For example, Rey Mysterio doing a frog splash in remembrance of Eddie Guerrero. Another example would be Mercedes Monè taunting her opponents, similar to Eddie Guerrero.

Bret Hart has influenced many wrestlers like Kenny Omega, Roman Reigns, CM Punk, and many others. Wrestlers are quick to be influenced by veterans. Many wrestlers would wrestle without personality. This is what makes a wrestler want to be a professional wrestler. It's also a way to learn from the best. Austin Theory grew up as a John Cena fan. His dream was to wrestle John Cena one day. He wrestled John Cena at WrestleMania 39. Damian Priest's wrestling style and look is similar to Undertaker. Many fans have compared Damian Priest to Undertaker when he was a part of Judgement Day. His wrestling gear is black and purple, which can be influenced by Undertaker's old wrestling gear. In conclusion, the influence veterans have on present wrestlers can have a good influence on them.
