Is Becky Lynch Returning to WWE at WrestleMania 41?
At WrestleMania 41 night two, Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez were scheduled to defend their WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships against Bayley and WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion Lyra Valkyria. This came after Bayley and Valkyria won a gauntlet match on Friday Night Smackdown, starting from the number one spot and still coming out victorious. However, Bayley was found injured on the morning of WrestleMania 41 Night One, as she was attacked backstage by Rodriguez and Morgan. With this injury angle obviously being planned, did it happen because nine-time WWE Women’s Champion Becky Lynch is finally ready to come back to in-ring action?
Becky Lynch has been out of action since May 2024, and there are multiple reasons for that. Her contract expired that same year, though she re-signed in January 2025. With that being said, Lynch was not planning on return to the WWE immediately as she wanted to spend time raising her daughter. When Lynch was seen in the WWE, she was feuding with Morgan for the WWE Women’s World Championship, making perfect sense for her to return in this match. It seems that Lynch is now ready to come back to the ring given the rumors that she will be replacing Bayley at WrestleMania 41.
Becky Lynch and Lyra Valkyria are both from Ireland, which is where the connection between the two comes from. They have previously teamed when Valkyria was in NXT, and Valkyria was even the woman to take the NXT Women’s Championship from Lynch in October 2023. When Valkyria was called up to the WWE’s main roster in May 2024, she and Lynch had multiple segments together, the most notable being when they fought off Damage CTRL. Unfortunately, the same month that Valkyria was called up was the same month that the future Hall of Famer decided to take a hiatus, which means that they were unable to team up.
That could all change tonight, though, as the rumors of Becky Lynch returning at WrestleMania 41 to team with Valkyria are continuing to grow. Lynch is present at WrestleMania 41, as she was seen attending the WWE Hall of Fame alongside her husband Seth Rollins. Rollins competed in the main event of WrestleMania 41 Night One, which saw him turn heel and join forces with Paul Heyman, taking the victory. A WrestleMania main event win along with a Women’s Tag Team Championship would once again make Lynch and Rollins WWE’s power couple.
