Is Trick Williams the Leader of NXT’s Newest Group?

WWE

Last week, NXT’s newest group revealed their name and made their intentions known. Later on that night, Trick Williams defeated Eddy Thorpe in an Underground match and called out Oba Femi afterward. As Femi and Williams brawled, DarkState made their way to the ring to beat down the two NXT stars. Je’Von Evans came out to save both of them but this led to a brawl between all three men that concluded with Evans dropping Femi. However, DarkState just stood by and watched and did not get involved at all. Why didn’t they get involved? They had attacked both Femi and Evans before but not Williams. Why not attack Williams he is NXT’s biggest star right now. This has led some fans to theorize that Mr. Whoop That Trick is behind this new group after all.

After losing the NXT Championship, Williams has been obsessed with getting it back and has gone through an attitude change. He has lashed out at his friends and has threatened to “crash out” for weeks. On the March 25th episode of NXT, he called Evans out on not winning a championship yet saying that he was not championship material. Later on that night, Evans failed to capture the NXT Heritage Cup due to Femi costing him the match. Afterward, DarkState showed up to attack both stars and once again just stood by and watched as Williams took out Evans with the Trick Shot. Williams claimed it was an accident and that he was aiming for Femi. In an interview, Williams claimed that Evans got in the way and when he was asked about DarkState he claimed that he has nothing to do with the group.

So, for the past two weeks, Williams and DarkState have been involved with each other. Is it a coincidence? For a group who claims that they want to make a name for themselves, and cause chaos then how come they have not attacked Williams yet? Why are they directly involved in Williams’ business with the NXT Champion and Evans? All of these questions have led to a popular prediction that Williams is the leader of this new group, and it does make a lot of sense. The next few weeks will be interesting for fans to watch to see if their prediction becomes true as NXT approaches Stand and Deliver.
