John Cena Sells His Soul to The Rock

WWE

At the Elimination Chamber event in Toronto, John Cena achieved a monumental victory, securing his place to face Cody Rhodes for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 41. This win for Cena marks his record-tying fourth and final Elimination Chamber match, outlasting CM Punk, Seth Rollins, Logan Paul, Damien Priest and Drew McIntyre. After the match concluded, in the main event segment, the night took a shocking turn when The Rock alongside rapper Travis Scott confronted Cody, hoping he would sell his soul to him. In a bold move, The American Nightmare defiantly told The Rock to "Go f*** yourself," earning a massive ovation from the crowd.

Unfortunately, the celebration was short-lived. After a very eventful night where we saw two great Chamber matches, an emotional Unsanctioned Match, by far the most shocking moment of the night was when John Cena, who had just secured his title shot, turned on Cody, delivering a low blow while embracing him that left the audience in disbelief, turning heel for the first time since 2003. The cheers quickly transformed into gasps as Cena began to attack Cody, joined by rapper Travis Scott and not long after, The Rock stayed back and later joined the fray while Cena and Scott held him down as the Rock whipped him with his custom weight belt. The assault was brutal and disturbing and it left Cody in a bloody mess in the center of the ring.

The shocking alliance between Cena and The Rock sent shockwaves through the WWE Universe. Fans were left questioning Cena's motivations: Why would he betray Cody, someone who he passed the torch to just two years ago? Why would he go against everything he stood for in Hustle, Loyalty and Respect? Rock and Cena were bitter rivals just over a decade ago, what could have made Cena want to align with The Final Boss? As The Rock, Cena, and Scott stood tall on the ramp, staring down at the fallen Cody, it became clear that Cena had crossed a line, selling his soul to The Rock could eventually help him gain his record-breaking 17th World Title.
