Knicks Travel to Milwaukee Looking To Earn a Statement Win
The New York Knicks have been a very inconsistent organization as of late. Picking up solid wins as well as dropping unnecessary losses against below-average teams. In their most recent game, they lost to a talented Clippers team in a game where they were unable to contain superstar guard James Harden. The game before that against the Dallas Mavericks, the Knicks made history twice with Josh Hart breaking the Knicks record for triple-doubles in a season as well as having two players put up a triple-double in the same game for the first time in Knicks history with Hart and Karl-Anthony Towns doing so. After a flurry of highs and lows in which direction the game against the Bucks takes, one thing is for sure: It promises to be an exciting one.
Game Insight
As for the season series between the Knicks and Bucks, the Knicks are currently up 2-0. The Knicks won in convincing fashion in both games and have proved they have Milwaukee’s number up to this point in the season. Can the Bucks alter the narrative by picking apart the lackadaisical Knicks’ defense? It will definitely depend on a few factors, the biggest being Giannis Antetokounmpo and whether or not he will be playing with his foot injury. He is currently listed as a game-time decision as other stars Damian Lillard and Jalen Brunson are once again confirmed out. At this point in the season, this should be considered a must-win for the Bucks but mainly for the Knicks, as they would be able to clinch the playoffs with a victory.
Key Matchup
The matchup, in my opinion, that will have the biggest impact on the outcome is once again the big-man duel between Brook Lopez and Karl-Anthony Towns. Both two veterans in this league who have played each other a handful of times are looking to slow down the other to provide the upper hand for their team. Obviously, Lopez is one of the most elite defenders in this league, even at his age. It will be interesting to see if he can keep up with one of the best offensive centers around.
