MCMG is Debuting Next Week on SmackDown

WWE

It was reported last month that Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley of the Motor City Machine Guns were officially signed to WWE. It seemed they were originally planned to be the faces of the NXT tag team division, but since WWE could not sign the Lucha Brothers at the moment, it looks like MCMG is going to take over the SmackDown division instead. Even if they couldn’t get the Lucha Bros, WWE’s tag division, particularly on SmackDown, is loaded, and the Machine Guns are going to take their shot.

It was rumored weeks ago that Sabin and Selly were going to make their WWE debut on the first episode of NXT on the CW in Chicago, if not, maybe the next show in St. Louis. After the Lucha Bros fell through, not long after, it was reported by PWInsider that MCMG was SmackDown bound instead. For the last two or three weeks, vignettes started playing of two shadowy figures getting into a high-speed chase in what seems to be a Challenger, with police sirens and a helicopter. The same vignette played on last night's episode of SmackDown, ending with “Next Week.” Before it ended, you could see letters flash across the screen with “MCMG.”

SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis was confronted by Legado Del Fantasma, and they just wanted to know why they hadn’t had a shot lately. Aldis stated to Los Garza, “You have a match against a team, a very special team, a team that I hand-selected just for you.” He even told the Street Profits and DIY, who were arguing, that he has a “new team” coming next week. October 25th in Brooklyn, New York, the Motor City Machine Guns are definitely going to be great veteran assets to WWE’s young talent.
