Mitchell Drops 50; Magic Force a Game Seven

NBA

The Orlando Magic lives to see another day! We all know that going into this game the Magic were down 3-2 against Cleveland, which means that this Friday night Game Six matchup between these two squads was a win-or-go-home game for Orlando. With that being the case, this game did not disappoint as it was one that kept fans in their seats until the final buzzer sounded. The Magic, playing in front of their home crowd, managed to outlast the Cavaliers in the end, securing an extremely hard-fought 103-96 victory. Let’s take a look at how Orlando won this game!

From the opening tip-off, it was evident that this matchup would be a showcase of individual talent and team resilience. Cleveland, led by the dynamic backcourt duo of Darius Garland and Donovan Mitchell, came out firing on all cylinders. Mitchell, in particular, put on a scoring clinic, dropping an astonishing 50 points on the night. For the Magic, it was a balanced offensive effort that ultimately propelled them to victory. Led by the versatile forward duo of Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner, Orlando showcased their scoring ability from start to finish. Banchero finished with 27 points, while Wagner was not far behind him with 26 points.

As the game entered the final minutes, the tension in the arena reached a fever pitch when a Banchero three swished through the rim with nearly three and a half minutes left in regulation to give the Magic a lead that they would hold for the rest of this game. With this Orlando win both teams will head back to Cleveland for Game Seven on Sunday at 1 PM EST. When we think about the fact that neither team has won a game on the road yet in this series, the favor is definitely leaning in the Cavaliers favor as we near the end of this series but who knows what will happen this weekend. Will the Magic win their first playoff series since 2010?
