Three Teams That Could Benefit from a Zach LaVine Trade
With the trade deadline quickly approaching, everyone is wondering where players will end up. Numerous players in the league have been rumored to be traded, but one of the biggest stars that could end up on the trade block is Chicago Bulls star Zach LaVine. The Bulls currently sit at tenth in the Eastern Conference with a 18-20 record. LaVine has been averaging 23.6 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game this season. Since the start of 2025, Zach LaVine has been on fire scoring 30+ points in the last five games. If he continues to play like he’s been playing, he could build more interest from other teams looking to pursue the star shooting guard/small forward.
Denver Nuggets
There have been talks about a potential swap with Zach LaVine and Nuggets forward Michael Porter Jr. This swap could give the Nuggets their third star to play alongside Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray. LaVine’s versatility and consistency on the perimeter would help stabilize this season for the Nuggets and cement their place among the top six in the Western Conference. On the other hand, this would give the Bulls a fresh young star looking to bolster this Bulls offense alongside Coby White, Patrick Williams, and Ayo Dosunmo.
Miami Heat
While in the middle of the NBA trade season, Zach LaVine is a player that should be the radar of the Miami Heat. If the Bulls and Heat can work out a swap of Tyler Herro and Terry Rozier for Zach LaVine, an argument could be made that this would fix a lot of the Heat’s issues. LaVine is a better pure scorer than both of them and brings something off the dribble and in the paint that Herro and Rozier lack. If the Heat want to become championship contenders in the next few years, they should take a shot on LaVine. Miami may have to take a risk and Zach LaVine makes the most sense.
Los Angeles Lakers
Zach LaVine on the Lakers would be nothing short of dangerous. Being the third star to LeBron James and Anthony Davis could give the Lakers that extra push they need to move their way up in the Western Conference. LeBron being the facilitator that he is, would bring out the most in Zach LaVine on the court and would take full advantage of his versatility and athleticism. LaVine’s scoring ability would also take some pressure off LeBron to carry the Lakers at times. While they failed to strike a deal earlier in the season, they could always revisit the subject again.
