Nuggets Obliterate T-Wolves in Minnesota
A few days ago, the defending champion Denver Nuggets were the laughingstock of the basketball world when they lost their second straight game to the third-seeded Minnesota Timberwolves. Last night, the Nuggets proved to everyone that they should not be written off just yet, as they obliterated the T-Wolves 117-90 in Minnesota. Game Four on Sunday night will be huge as either the series will be tied at two games apiece heading back to Denver, or the Timberwolves will have a game-changing 3-1 lead over the defending champions. It’s time for the Nuggets and their stars Nikola Jokić, and Jamal Murray to prove why they were last year’s NBA champions, and why they could possibly run it back to the Finals again this season.
After one-quarter of play, the Nuggets held an eight-point lead. Denver’s lead was up to 15 points once both teams walked back into the locker room for halftime. Once the third quarter was over, the Nuggets were up by 27 points. Minnesota could not handle or come back from this enormous deficit as they would lose their first game of the playoffs by the largest deficit they faced all season long. During the game, you could hear Anthony Edwards telling his teammates “It’s a series, bruh, we good.” Reassuring his teammates that one loss should not derail the momentum this team has had since the first game of the regular season. It’s going to be an epic series, that is for certain, but which team will come through and have the upper hand?
Both Jokić and Murray scored 24 points apiece. Jokić recorded 24 points, 14 rebounds, nine assists, three steals, and three blocks, while Murray put up 24 points, four rebounds, five assists, and three steals. Michael Porter Jr. dropped 21 points in the Game Three win. Anthony Edwards led the T-Wolves with 19 points. In addition, Edwards had six rebounds, five assists, a block, and five turnovers.
