Nuggets vs. Pistons: High-Flying Showdown in the Motor City

NBA

The Detroit Pistons added to their now eight-game winning streak with an incredible victory over the defending NBA Champions, the Boston Celtics. Cade Cunningham and Malik Beasley continued to excel as the Pistons won 117-97 in what many call an upset. However, they face another tough challenge in the Denver Nuggets. The Nuggets have won nine of their last 10 games. Combine this with Detroit’s winning streak, and you have a matchup of two of the hottest teams in the NBA right now.

Denver has a road game against the Milwaukee Bucks tonight at 8:00 p.m. EST. With Giannis Antetokounmpo looking to return tonight, Milwaukee poses a serious threat to Denver. The outcome of tonight’s game is sure to affect Denver’s morale, stamina, and performance against Detroit. Detroit does not have a game slated for tonight. This means that while Denver is focused on the Bucks, Detroit is looking to take down the Nuggets.

That aspect gives favor to Detroit. However, one aspect that gives favor to Denver is that these two teams have played each other before this season, albeit once. In that game, Denver won 134-121. This game was notable for Nikola Jokic’s 37 points and Jamal Murray’s 34 points, where 21 came in the third quarter. However, this game was in Denver. This time around, Saturday’s game will be in Detroit. It will be interesting to see how the Pistons try to prevent such star performances, particularly in Jokic given how incredible his basketball skills are. In any case, Detroit’s game on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. EST against Denver is sure to be excellent.
