Odyssey Jones Removed from WWE Active Roster

WWE

Only one month after finally making his debut, Odessey Jones was removed from the WWE active roster page. Creative had no idea what to do with the big man until recently. This was rather unexpected because he was slotted into the feud siding with The New Day against The Final Testament. Jones' removal was very surprising, to say the least, fans are somewhat in shock and disappointed. His debut received much acclaim from fans with him showing off his power by lifting Akam and Rezar.

Odyssey Jones, real name Omari Palmer, was signed to WWE in 2019 after a tryout in 2018. He made his televised wrestling debut against Andre Chase in 2021 during the NXT Breakout Tournament and made it all the way to the finals in a losing effort to Carmelo Hayes. He went on hiatus in 2022 after undergoing surgery for a ruptured patellar tendon. He returned later that year for the rebranded NXT 2.0 and beat a few enhancement talents before he was drafted to Raw in the spring of 2023. Jones was never seen on TV again, though he did have a few dark matches. Then he was re-drafted to Raw again in 2024 but was still never seen on TV, to the point where he became a meme.

The former Syracuse offensive lineman finally made his main roster debut in August of this year, recruited by Kofi Kingston as part of The New Day to help against Karrion Kross and AOP. It started an interesting storyline between Kofi and his New Day partner Xavier Woods as Woods was not consulted nor on board with Jones because he felt like Kofi was replacing Big E, who has been on hiatus due to a severe neck injury he suffered in 2022. Jones had his first televised main roster match on the August 13th episode of Raw with The New Day, getting the victory against an enhancement talent. A week later he teamed with the New Day against the Final Testament in a resounding victory, but a mere two weeks later, he is possibly no longer in the company. It is safe to say that Jones’ odyssey with WWE has been interesting.
