Panthers Steam Passed Lightning for 11th Straight Road Win

NHL

The Eastern Conference leading Florida Panthers took care of business in Tampa Bay to set a franchise record road win streak of 11 straight games. In the third game of an away trip, the Panthers dominated the Lightning, scoring nine goals across six different players. After going down 1-0 in the first 24 seconds of the game, Florida ended the first period up 4-1. The fun was just getting started there, as they scored nine straight unanswered goals, including six in the first 22 minutes of the game, to cruise to their 9-2 victory.

In a full team effort, Florida had four players with three or more points and three different players with two goals. Center Sam Bennett started the action by assisting Brandon Montour for the first goal of the night. Bennett added another assist and two goals himself later on in the game. With two more goals each by Matthew Tkachuk and Carter Verhaeghe, the Panthers surged to victory.

The Panthers are currently on a 5-game win streak and haven’t lost at an opponent's home in 2024. Instead, you’d have to date back to December 19th for their last road loss when they played at Calgary. The Panthers take this 5th straight win back to Florida, looking to continue the streak against the Senators on February 20. After Saturday’s win,, the Panthers sit at the top of the Eastern Conference, geared up for a shot at a Stanley Cup run with home-ice advantage. Whether it’s a blessing or a curse being at their House is up for them to decide, but the Panthers are rolling and look to keep it up on Wednesday night at home.
