PNC Park Unveils Array of New Food Options for 2025 Season

MLB

As Pittsburgh Pirates fans gear up for another baseball season, they have more than just the action on the field to look forward to. PNC Park is rolling out a fresh lineup of ballpark bites to enhance the game-day experience. Known for its picturesque riverfront views and reputation as one of the most beautiful stadiums in MLB, PNC Park continues to elevate its appeal with creative and locally inspired food options. Even amid the Pirates' ongoing playoff drought, fans can still find joy in the unique concessions that make a trip to the ballpark a must for any Pittsburgh/baseball enthusiast.

This season, longtime Pirates food vendor Aramark has unveiled a collection of new offerings, blending fun presentations with regional flavors. Fans can now enjoy their favorite snacks in creative containers like baseball bat-shaped popcorn buckets, a baseball-themed cup for chilled beverages, and even a Pirate Parrot mask that comes with a serving of cotton candy. These whimsical additions not only add to the excitement of a day at the ballpark but also create lasting memories for fans of all ages. They make for great souvenirs that kids and collectors alike will treasure, serving as tangible reminders of their baseball experiences.

Beyond novelty items, the menu is also introducing dishes that pay tribute to classic Pittsburgh cuisine. The Cannonball Stand, located in section 146, will serve up chipped ham empanadas stuffed with barbecue-flavored chipped ham, cheddar cheese, and pickles, offering a portable twist on a hometown favorite. Another standout is the fried almond torte, which takes the beloved burnt almond torte and gives it a carnival-style makeover, funnel cake batter-dipped, deep-fried, and topped with raspberry sauce, icing, and crunchy burnt almonds. Fans looking for something savory can also try the Polish Cannonballs, a hearty combination of egg noodles, kielbasa, cabbage, bacon, and cheddar cheese, all deep-fried into bite-sized croquettes and served with a creamy herb dip.

According to Alison Birdwell, president and CEO of Aramark Sports and Entertainment, the updated menu was designed with local fans in mind, ensuring that the ballpark continues to reflect the flavors and traditions of Pittsburgh. The Pirates will kick off their home season on Friday, April 4th, against the New York Yankees, giving fans their first chance to sample these new offerings while cheering on their team. Whether or not the Pirates can snap their near-decade-long playoff drought, PNC Park remains a premier destination for baseball lovers. Its food scene is yet another reason to head to the ballpark this season.
