Potential Landing Spots for Beau Pribula in Portal
As the portal rumors start to heat up, one of Penn State’s most electrifying offensive players will enter the transfer portal ahead of their appearance in the College Football Playoffs. Backup quarterback Beau Pribula has been used as a change-of-pace guy for the Nittany Lions, used mainly in run scenarios. Pribula can pass when given the opportunity, totaling 424 yards on 37 completions and nine passing touchdowns. However, known mainly for his rushing ability, he has tallied 571 yards on the ground and 10 touchdowns on 94 attempts. With him entering the portal, these teams might be interested in signing the dual-threat quarterback.
1. Miami
With Cam Ward headed to the NFL Draft, the quarterback room in Miami is pretty thin. Pribula offers the same dual threat as Ward, and the playbook would remain the same. The ACC competition fits the play style of Beau, with the ground-and-pound mentality being a common theme among the majority of the teams across the conference. The Hurricanes should generate traction after their success this year, which fell just short of the ACC Championship. Miami would be an interesting fit for Pribula.
2. Indiana
A surprise in general for college football in 2024 was the Indiana Hoosiers. They will gain a lot of love in the portal with their success. With their current quarterback, Kurtis Rourke, expected to declare for the NFL Draft, they could look to match the talent they have at quarterback with Beau. Rourke offers the same dual-threat abilities as Pribula. Beau has felt the heat of playing in the Big Ten, so that factor wouldn’t mean much to his change in environment.
3. Auburn
While Beau might not have what it takes to serve as an SEC starting quarterback, he does have the ability to change a game like any of the quarterbacks we see today. Auburn’s quarterback room lacks skill and experience and could look to the portal to make a change. Auburn hasn’t had a great quarterback since Bo Nix before he transferred to Oregon. Giving Beau a chance for the Tigers wouldn’t be the worst idea to brighten their opportunity at returning to the top of their conference.
