Rangers Put a Hold on Ottawa

NHL

The New York Rangers had a great game against the Ottawa Senators. The game was a complete shootout, and they received another win. The final score from this game was 0-5. The Senators could not score anything in tonight's game. However, the Rangers had a fantastic night and used plenty of teamwork to make things happen on the Ice.

The Rangers are making a push for a spot in the playoffs. The Rangers are making a push for a spot in the playoffs. They moved up and out of the second wild-card spot, widening the gap between them and the teams behind them. Ottawa was sitting in first for the spot but following tonight's game, the Rangers have successfully pushed them out. Matt Rempe and several others were on top of their game tonight. Rempe was the first one to score tonight's first goal and many of his team members followed shortly after. In the first quarter, two goals were called back but they were able to make them up later. Following that play, there were plenty of assists from multiple other team members.

Since the New Year started, the Rangers have made a turnaround every time they have hit the Ice. Their season was almost lost, but now they are spending time making up what they almost weren't going to have. They have been answering contests when they are presented to them in each game and answering the high calls thrown their way. It's allowed them to push their way back into the playoff contention for the postseason.

They have signed plenty of new guys over. Following the signing of Arthur Kaliyev among others to the roster, things have certainly gotten better.  One of the biggest areas that has hugely made a difference for the Rangers too is their goalie, Igor Shesterkin. He had several shootouts in the last game and did not allow the other teams to score. In this game, he had 20 shots against him. He never let anything get by him.  This has made a big difference for the Rangers and hopefully, it will continue at home in Madison Square Garden.
