Rockies Are on A Win Streak No One Expected
Just a couple of days ago, the Colorado Rockies looked to be one of, if not the worst team in all of Major League Baseball this season. However, luck has surely shifted sides, as the Rockies are currently on a five-game winning streak. Their record is now at 13-28, and although they sit at the bottom of the NL West division, a lot of people, and teams are talking about the damage this team could do if they finally band together and figure out how to win against experienced teams. This team placed themselves on the wrong side of the MLB history books this season, either trailing in the game or losing through their first 31 games of the season. The Rockies have a chance to push their winning streak to seven games if they sweep the San Diego Padres in the last two games of their three-game series.
Although they did not win the series, the Rockies took the last game of a three-game series against division rival San Francisco Giants. Next, Colorado outscored the defending World Series champion Texas Rangers 15-6, sweeping the 2023 champions in a three-game series. Last night, the Rockies pushed their winning streak to five games when they defeated the Padres 5-4. Elehuris Montero was huge, driving in three RBIs in the win while starting pitcher Dakota Hudson picked up his first win of the season after starting out 0-6 through his first seven starts. Colorado needed a string of wins that would band the team together, and now that it’s finally happened this team needs to look at how they can prove to be one of the better franchises in baseball during this season.
In last night’s win, the Rockies stole three bases, while their pitching staff walked 11 batters. They’re currently 9-12 at home, and 4-16 on the road. Last night’s win was Colorado’s fourth road win of the season. Colorado has allowed 224 runs while driving in 158. This team needs to take this season one game at a time and do whatever they can to push themselves higher within the NL West division. How long do you think the Colorado Rockies streak will last?
