Roman Reigns Not Entering 2025 WWE Elimination Chamber, Who Will Be His WrestleMania 41 Opponent?

WWE

To the surprise of many WWE fans, Roman Reigns was not in a qualifying match for the 2025 Men’s Elimination Chamber. Reigns is easily the WWE’s biggest star, and given his rivalry with Cody Rhodes, many were expecting him to at least attempt to challenge the Undisputed WWE Champion at WrestleMania 41. However, it seems like Reigns has different plans, as he will not be competing in the EC match. Reigns has main-evented every WrestleMania since 2021 and is tied for the most main events with eight. Without a world title match, there’s a chance that another main event may not be the case for the Tribal Chief. There still are many other options aside from Cody that Roman could face at “The Grandest Stage Of Them All,” and they are all highly intriguing.

The obvious answer that comes to mind is Seth Rollins, as the two have had a story that’s been going on for over 12 years now. They took over the WWE in their early years as The Shield and have been the company’s two biggest stars over the past decade. Shockingly, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins have never wrestled at WrestleMania in a singles match together despite their highly personal feud. With both having unclear plans for this year’s WrestleMania, it could finally be the perfect to end the rivalry that has shaped the WWE throughout the 2010s and 2020s.

There have been rumors, though, about a triple threat match with Rollins, Reigns, and CM Punk. Although Rollins versus Reigns at WrestleMania will end up being arguably the biggest match in history, the WWE may hold off on it as their rivalry deserves a much longer build and certainly the main event spot. At Royal Rumble 2025, Punk eliminated both Rollins and Reigns from the match and got into an altercation with them when he got eliminated as well. Punk has also been in a year-long feud with Seth Rollins, teamed up with Roman Reigns at Survivor Series 2024 because of a promise made by Paul Heyman, and was also the innovator behind The Shield, with many fans crediting him for making Seth and Roman the stars they are today.

There are other options for Reigns as well, with the biggest being The Rock. However, it seems that Dwayne Johnson will be staying out of WrestleMania 41, as he has not made a WWE appearance since Raw’s debut on Netflix for a one-off. John Cena is also another possible name, as he is still without an opponent for his last ever WrestleMania. With that being said, he has been tangled up with many other wrestlers such as Logan Paul, Cody Rhodes, and Drew McIntyre, and a WrestleMania 41 match against Reigns is likely not on the cards. Roman Reigns’ opponent at WrestleMania 41 has not been decided yet, but it will certainly be a marquee match no matter who it’s against.
