Another week, another exciting day of TCU Women’s Basketball! Today, the Horned Frogs took on the Texas Tech Lady Raiders. Just three days ago, the Horned Frogs triumphed over Kansas. Currently ranked first in the Big 12 Conference, Sedona Prince led the charge with an impressive 30 points and 14 rebounds. Earlier in the week, Texas Tech took on West Virginia. In an intense first quarter, Hailey Van Lith quickly scored a layup, and then she and Sedona Prince added two more points following a Texas turnover. Bailey Maupin responded for Texas with free throws and a three-pointer after a TCU miss. Madison Conner found Van Lith for another three, and Maupin's and-1 play further boosted Texas's score. Despite the aggressive defense from Texas Tech, Prince was able to contribute with an offensive rebound and a fadeaway. Van Lith capped the quarter with free throws, leaving the Lady Raiders trailing by just one point as the first quarter ended. Texas Tech committed a turnover early into the second quarter, quickly followed by another, giving the Horned Frogs more opportunities. Taylor Bigby capitalized with a layup. Bigby dived for a loose ball, resulting in a tie-up that gave possession back to TCU. Bigby also blocked a Texas Tech shot, while Van Lith made a layup. Agnes Emma-Nnopu grabbed an offensive rebound and scored, despite Texas Tech blocking her next two attempts. Van Lith quickly responded with another two points, and Kilah Freelon headed to the line after a layup. Conner hit a three-pointer, earning a foul and reaching double digits. After missed shots from Texas Tech, Conner dribbled out to end the game.

Sedona Prince and Hailey Van Lith led the TCU Horned Frogs, with Prince securing her 21st double-double by recording 10 rebounds and 20 points. Van Lith added 7 assists and 22 points. Bailey Maupin led the Lady Raiders' efforts with 23 points and 8 rebounds. Aaliyah Roberson and Prince tied for the most blocks, with Roberson achieving three and Prince five. The Horned Frogs shot an impressive 50% from the field and 33.3% from beyond the arc, compared to Texas Tech's 22.8% and 11.8%. Although Texas Tech had solid defense, they couldn't contain Van Lith, who has only scored in single digits once this season. Every player contributed to secure another win for the Horned Frogs. TCU's next game is on Tuesday against the unranked University of Central Florida. They last faced UCF in late December, winning decisively with a score of 92-52. Now holding a 12-6 record, Texas Tech will meet Iowa State on January 14th.
