Sonic and Knuckles is a familiar duo to a lot of people. Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery will be a familiar duo in Detroit if they continue to dominate the NFL. The two players have adopted the nicknames Sonic and Knuckles. David Montgomery’s nickname is Knuckles. Jahmyr Gibbs' nickname is Sonic. Gibbs and Montgomery are two of the most dominant running backs in the league. Together, they are unstoppable. They have helped the Lions to lead the NFC North. The two backs have given perfect balance to the Detroit Lions' running offense. Thanks to the backfield, the Lions are more dominant than they ever have been in their history. 

Jahmyr Gibbs is known as Sonic, a fast-running back with many moves that prevent him from getting tackled by defenders. David Montgomery is Knuckles, a powerful running back who can muscle his way through tackles. According to ESPN, Gibbs has 92 carries for 591 yards and six touchdowns. Gibbs has the eighth-most rushing yards in the league and the sixth-most rushing touchdowns in the league. Montgomery has had a tremendous season as well. Montgomery has 93 carries for 415 yards and seven touchdowns. He is tied for the third-most rushing touchdowns in the league. Montgomery has the 25th-most rushing yards in the league. It is fascinating that two running backs on the same team could have the third and sixth-most rushing touchdowns in the league. That is evidence of a dominant offense.

The Lions are having the most dominant season that they have ever had. That starts with the backfield. Montgomery has given the Lions a powerful way to run through the defense. As well, Gibbs has given the Lions a way to avoid the defense with his speed. The characters Sonic and Knuckles are one of the most well-known duos in history. Gibbs and Montgomery will be one of Detroit's most well-known duos if they can continue dominating the backfield.
