Steelers vs. Ravens Takeaways

NFL

The Pittsburgh Steelers were able to stay at the top of the AFC North for yet another week, thanks to their decisive win over the Baltimore Ravens. The game was a hard-fought battle for each side, though in the end, the Steelers won with a score of 18-16. Both teams struggled to find the end zone on Sunday, contributing to the low score and slim two-point victory. This match up also left spectators and sports fans with some takeaways, like the unmatched performance ability of Chris Boswell, and the Pittsburgh Steelers’ defensive team is rock solid.

Week 12 was eerily similar to Week One for the Pittsburgh Steelers, where Boswell also scored all 18 of their points throughout the match. However, it was only yesterday that Boswell made NFL history, as he is the only kicker in the franchise who has made six field goals in three different career games. Though the offensive team should tighten up and work to find the endzone, especially with two star quarterbacks Justin Fields and Russell Wilson, Boswell has proven his ability to perform well under pressure and secure the win for the Steelers when necessary. Even more impressive about the kicker’s performance is that three of his field goals were from over 50 yards out, further proving that he possesses an unmatched ability that comes out when most needed.

As a result of the offensive team’s struggles throughout the game, the pressure was on the Pittsburgh Steelers’ defensive team as well to keep the Baltimore Ravens at bay. Throughout the game, the Steel City defense forced three turnovers and only let up two touchdowns, actions that proved pivotal in the end. The defense even shut out a two-point conversion in the final minute of the fourth quarter that would have tied the game butJoey Porter Jr. was able to shut it down. Many fans were betting against the Steelers heading into Week 12, but with the help of their defense’s tenacity and Boswell’s golden right leg, they were able to defeat their rivals and remain the leaders of the AFC North.
