SummerSlam 2024 Will Be An Event to Remember

WWE

Yesterday, the King and Queen of the Ring Tournament aired from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. It was certainly a great premium event and a great way to reintroduce this legendary tournament into the mainstream. With the winners from both the King and Queen of the Ring earning title shots at this year’s SummerSlam in Cleveland Ohio, SummerSlam 2024 is looking to be an event to remember as we could see Cleveland Browns Stadium rocking with energy. As we slowly head towards SummerSlam, this match card for the event will be jam-packed with the best talent the WWE has to offer. It was even announced that SummerSlam will become a two-night event starting in 2026 at U.S Bank Stadium in Minneapolis Minnesota. The 2024 King and Queen of the Ring have announced what title they’ll be chasing, and who they’ll be challenging on August 3rd in Cleveland.

‘The Irresistible Force’ Nia Jax beat down former NXT Women’s Champion Lyra Valkyria to become the 2024 Queen of the Ring. During her post-match interview, Nia announced that she’ll be turning her attention to Bayley’s WWE Women’s Championship. Bayley has to be ready for what reprehensible damage comes her way when it comes to Jax, as ‘The Irresistible Force’ is hungry for her respect, and to receive that gold around her waist. The new WWE Women’s Champion will face her toughest, strongest, nastiest opponent at SummerSlam, and Bayley fans must be nervous about the thought of Bayley losing the title. Nia is the 2024 Queen of the Ring, if she becomes the new WWE Women’s Champion, the wrecking ball that is Nia Jax will stop at nothing to tear her opponents apart and keep her gold.

It was announced at Clash at the Castle in Glasgow Scotland that Damian Priest will defend his World Heavyweight Championship against Scottish-born Drew McIntyre. Priest offered to defend his title against McIntyre, and WWE’s Chief Content Officer Triple H made the match official. McIntyre is looking to win a championship in front of a live audience, something he didn’t get a chance to do during WrestleMania 36 when he defeated Brock Lesnar to win his first WWE Championship. Now, if either Priest retains, or McIntyre pulls out the victory in front of the Scottish crowd, the winner will face 2024 King of the Ring winner, ‘The Ring General’ Gunther at SummerSlam. Gunther, the longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion of all time at 666 days, is now looking to carry another piece of WWE gold around his waist. He certainly looks determined to be on top of the mountain, especially yesterday in his King of the Ring Finals win over Randy Orton, and be the top competitor from the RAW brand.

We certainly can’t forget about the WWE Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes. Whether Cody faces someone like The Rock, Tama Tonga, or even LA Knight, Cleveland will be electric when they see ‘The American Nightmare’s’ music play. Also, we can’t forget Cleveland-born WWE superstar Logan Paul, who just lost in his WWE Undisputed Championship match to Rhodes. Paul will most likely be defending his United States Championship, and whoever his opponent may be, they’ll certainly be looking to take down the Cleveland native and take that United States Championship away from Paul. Although she has been injured and was forced to vacate her Women’s World Championship, Rhea Ripley may make her return and challenge newly crowned Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan for the title. We can’t forget Roman Reigns! Will the Tribal Chief make his return at SummerSlam? Just from the looks of it, SummerSlam 2024 is looking like it will be an event to remember.
