Super Bowl LIII Champion Offensive Tackle Signs with the Bengals

NFL

Since 2015, offensive tackle Trent Brown has played for three different teams which include the San Francisco 49ers, Oakland Raiders, and the New England Patriots. With the Patriots in 2018, Brown helped the team win it all against the Los Angeles Rams in a low-scoring 13-3 matchup. A year later with the Raiders, Trent was named to his first Pro Bowl game. After the Patriots had one of their worst seasons in three decades, Brown became a free agent. Today, it was just announced Brown has signed a one-year deal with the Cincinnati Bengals.

Trent Brown played two years at the Georgia Military College, then moved on and played with the University of Florida from 2013-2014. Brown was the biggest offensive tackle the Gators had since 2003 standing in at 6 '8 and almost 365 pounds. The San Francisco 49ers selected the 2019 Pro Bowler in the seventh round as the 244th pick in the 2015 NFL Draft. Even in his rookie season, he received high praise from Broncos Super Bowl MVP Von Miller, who thought that Brown’s size and length would be the reason why Trent would become one of the best tackles in the league. Miller has said "He's the best right tackle in the National Football League! And he may even be a top-five tackle, period, in the National Football League. There's not another tackle who's that tall, that big, and can move the way he moves.”

Last season with the Patriots, the Super Bowl LIII champion offensive tackle played 11 total games with the team with eight starts. At 30 years old, Brown will hope Cincinnati can make a playoff run and perhaps win another Super Bowl. If he does, will Trent be a Hall of Famer? Only time will tell, now that he’s with the Bengals.
