Super Bowl LIV Champion Cornerback Signs to the Dolphins
Eight-year pro cornerback Kendall Fuller has played six of his eight seasons with the Washington Commanders. In the other two years, as a member of the Kansas City Chiefs, Fuller went on to assist the Chiefs in winning Super Bowl LIV against the San Francisco 49ers. It was just announced Kendall has signed a two-year 16 and a half million-dollar deal with the Miami Dolphins At 29 years old, the former Commanders cornerback will look to make the second half of his career as successful as he can possibly make it, with the hope of winning another Super Bowl surely has to be on his mind.
Kendall played three seasons of college ball at Virginia Tech. During his time with the Hokies, Fuller recorded 119 combined tackles, three and a half sacks, and eight interceptions. He was named ACC Defensive Rookie of the Year, and to the Second Team All-ACC in 2013, then in the following year the future Super Bowl champion cornerback was named to the First Team All-ACC. Kendall Fuller declared for the NFL Draft in 2015 but was unable to compete at the NFL Combine due to a torn meniscus. Before the injury, Fuller was projected to be a first-round pick, but Washington selected him in the third round as the 84th pick in the 2015 NFL Draft.
Last season, Fuller played in 15 games. He put up 79 combined tackles, 55 of those being solo tackles, and 24 assisted tackles. Kendall also had two tackles for a loss of yardage, nine pass deflections, and two interceptions. The Super Bowl LIV champion cornerback’s best game was late in the season against the Los Angeles Rams. In a 28-20 loss, Kendall Fuller had 11 combined tackles, six solo, and five assisted with one tackle for loss of yardage. With the Commanders making the playoffs in one out of the six seasons Fuller has been a member of the team, he’ll certainly be hoping to make a playoff appearance with Miami.
