Super Bowl LVIII: Chiefs- 49ers Preview and Predictions

NFL

This year's Super Bowl is a rematch of the 2020 Super Bowl between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers. Both teams have been hot down the stretch and throughout the playoffs. We are going to see if Brock Purdy can bring San Francisco their first Super Bowl since 1994, or if Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs are able to silence the critics, they’ve faced all year. It’s going to be fun to watch, because both teams stack up well and have a lot on the line.

The 49ers are coming off a win, after being down 24-10 at halftime, against the Detroit Lions in the NFC Championship. Quarterback Brock Purdy has been slandered all year, with people saying he is a “system quarterback” and that anyone can succeed with that 49ers team. He has done more than enough to disprove that by leading the 49ers in the second half against the Lions and being in the MVP conversation. This is a fully loaded, well rounded 49ers team that has been the favorite to come out of the NFC all season. With studs like Deebo Samuel and Christian McCaffrey, this team is ready to bring home their sixth Super Bowl win. They have a very tough opponent in the Chiefs, however.

The Kansas City Chiefs have also been under a lot of heat. Ever since it all started, a lot of NFL fans have been getting annoyed with hearing about Taylor Swift, who is dating Travis Kelce. This had led a lot of fans to root against them all season. The Chiefs are coming off two statement wins against the Buffalo Bills and the Baltimore Ravens, in which their defense has really stood out. A main reason the Chiefs have made it this far is because of their improved defense, especially in the playoffs.

This is going to be a great game and it’s going to come down to the wire. Once the game ends, however, I believe it’s going to be the San Francisco 49ers who come out on top. That 49ers are a more well-rounded team than the Chiefs and are at some point going to pull away. They have more weapons offensively and a better defense.

My final score prediction: 49ers win 34-21
