The Final Stop on the Road to WrestleMania is the Elimination Chamber
The WWE will present the Elimination Chamber Premium Live Event on March 1st. This will be the last PLE before the Showcase of the Immortals. This event will feature two chamber matches in which the winners will go on to challenge for the WWE Championship and the Women’s World Championship at WrestleMania XLI. John Cena looks to win his final Elimination Chamber match to win an opportunity to become a 17-time World Champion on the Grandest Stage of them all. However, the night's biggest moment will revolve around one question: Will Cody Rhodes accept The Rock’s offer to be his champion? The entire direction of WrestleMania could change on this night, and it is a show that fans would not want to miss.
Men’s Chamber Match - John Cena vs CM Punk vs Seth “Freakin” Rollins vs Drew McIntyre vs Damian Priest vs Logan Paul
John Cena is the overwhelming favorite to win this match. After failing to win the Royal Rumble last month, Cena said it was best for business for him to win this match and become the WWE Champion once again at WrestleMania. However, he will have to go through four perennial superstars and Logan Paul to claim his spot in the main event of WrestleMania. CM Punk has made waves since his return in 2023 and looks to finally achieve his dream of main-eventing WrestleMania. However, he looks to be embroiled in a feud with Paul, and a match between those two might be the direction WWE goes at the Showcase of the Immortals. Seth “Freakin” Rollins is looking to reclaim championship gold but after taking out Roman Reigns at the Royal Rumble, Rollins may want to watch his back as the OTC seeks revenge against his former Shield brethren. Drew McIntyre is looking to win back-to-back in chamber matches, and he very well could do it. The Scotsman has been teasing a match with Rhodes since he was transferred to SmackDown in January. That match could come to fruition at WrestleMania, or McIntyre could lose and cry and complain and make excuses like he has been doing the past couple of weeks. Do I hear LA Knight saying McIncryer again for the next few weeks? Damian Priest is the outlier in this match because his road to Mania is a little bit unclear. If the former world champion were to win this match, it would be considered an upset because he does not have any major program going on right now. So, it is all lining up for Cena to win his fourth chamber match.
Women’s Chamber Match - Liv Morgan vs Bianca Belair vs Naomi vs Bayley vs Roxanne Perez vs Alexa Bliss
This year’s Women’s Elimination Chamber match is unpredictable, but the prohibited favorite is Liv Morgan. The New Jersey native, who recently became a three-time women’s tag team champion, has been on a role for the past year. The MVP of 2024 looks to main-event WrestleMania for the first time in her career. Standing in her way is Bianca Belair, the EST of the WWE. Belair knows a thing or two about main-eventing the Showcase of the Immortals, and after losing the Women’s Tag Team Championships, she is free to reenter the main event picture. Could fans finally get the dream match between Belair and Rhea Ripley that we should have gotten at WrestleMania 39? Another intriguing option to win is Roxanne Perez. The former NXT Women’s Champion is still feuding with Bayley, and a match between those two might be the plan for Mania; however, it is an intriguing idea for Perez to win and then become Women’s World Champion at WrestleMania to become the youngest world champion in WWE history, breaking Randy Orton’s record. Alexa Bliss just returned to WWE, and subtle teases of her joining the Wyatt Sicks have started to happen, so expect her story to go in that direction. As for Naomi, the former SmackDown Women’s Champion is on a list of suspects of who attacked Jade Cargill. The former TBS Champion is expected to make her return soon, so expect Naomi’s story to revolve around that.
Tiffany Stratton and Trish Stratus vs Nia Jax and Candice LeRae
Tiffany Stratton is set to defend her Women’s Championship against Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania, but first, she must take care of business against a former friend. Nia Jax has been gunning for Stratton since she cashed in on her in January. A rematch between the two ended in a disqualification and featured Trish Stratus running in to help Stratton overcome the odds of Jax and Candice LeRae. This will be a fun match to watch on a card filled with high stakes and personal rivalries.
Sami Zayn vs Kevin Owens- Unsanctioned Match
Speaking of personal rivalries, these two friends have been battling each other since they both came to WWE back in 2015. Kevin Owens feels betrayed by his friend because of his actions at the Royal Rumble. Sami Zayn just watched Owens being beaten by Rhodes in a Ladder match and then helped Reigns in the Royal Rumble match. Owens lost it on the February 3rd episode of Raw when he delivered a piledriver to Zayn to close out the show. Zayn was left with damage to his neck and claims Owens tried to end his career. Now, Zayn will fight Owens in a match where there are no disqualifications or count-outs, and the WWE cannot be found responsible for what these two will do to each other. This will be the most personal and volatile match on the card, and if their past matches are any indication, they will steal the show in Toronto.
Will Cody Rhodes Accept The Rock’s Offer?
The biggest question of the weekend will finally be answered by the American Nightmare. So far, the Road to WrestleMania has been slowly built, and some fans have complained about that. However, that all changed when the Final Boss came to SmackDown on February 21st and called out Rhodes to be his champion. Rhodes has been the biggest babyface in the industry since coming back to WWE in 2022. The current WWE Champion is the champion for the people, but the Great One has promised Rhodes everything that he can dream of if he becomes his champion. Think about this: In 1998, The Rock became Mr. McMahon’s corporate champion, and his career took off after that. What if the same thing happens to Rhodes? Could the fans potentially see the American Nightmare join the dark side? The Rock is on the Board of Directors at TKO, so he does have the power. However, what if Rhodes does not accept the offer? Would the Rock choose someone else to be his champion? He has been known to be a fan of McIntyre recently. No matter what happens, the result will have great ramifications as we approach the Grandest Stage of them all.
The Elimination Chamber is a pivotal event during WrestleMania season. This year’s event has the potential to go through the biggest swerves in recent history. It is an exciting time to be a WWE fan, and the anticipation for this event is at an all-time high. Now, the only thing to do is sit back and enjoy the ride the WWE is going to take us on.
