Three Opponents LA Knight Could Face During His First Title Defense

WWE

It has finally happened! ‘The Maverick’ Logan Paul lost the United States Championship in his hometown of Cleveland last night at SummerSlam to ‘The Megastar’ LA Knight. After a grueling battle and many years in the industry without a title, LA Knight star power has been officially cemented with the United States Championship and his first singles championship now wrapped around his waist. While Paul defended this championship three times during his 273-day reign, Knight has promised to defend the title much more. Certainly, it will be interesting to find out who will feud with ‘The ‘Megastar’ first. Paul can certainly challenge Knight to a rematch, but if the founder of Prime is moving past the United States Championship, here are three WWE superstars that could first face the new champion.

Carmelo Hayes

Knight has interacted with Carmelo Hayes before on SmackDown. Once Melo was drafted from NXT to SmackDown, he immediately challenged the Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes for the title and lost. Hayes beat ‘The Viper’ Randy Orton on SmackDown and was extremely cocky after doing so. He could be overconfident enough to challenge ‘The Megastar’ to try and gain his first title on the WWE roster. It would be a fantastic match, with Knight most likely retaining his title, while the entire WWE universe watches the young Hayes extraordinary talent.

Santos Escobar

Just like Hayes, Knight and Santos Escobar have interacted with one another, and even faced off multiple times on SmackDown these past few months. First, Knight, Escobar, and Logan Paul were in a triple-threat qualifying match for the Money in the Bank ladder match. Then, Knight faced Escobar with Paul interfering in the match. Having beaten ‘The Megastar’ on SmackDown might give the former LWO member to try his chances, and gain notoriety without a name like Rey Mysterio next to him.

Grayson Waller or Austin Theory

We know sooner or later, A-Town Down Under will break up as Grayson Waller has put his tag-team partner Austin Theory into harm’s way multiple times. Just last night at SummerSlam, Waller and Theory talked down on the city of Cleveland, Waller fled the ring, and Theory was on the opposite end of a 15-finger knuckle shuffle by The Miz, R-Truth, and nominated Grammy artist Jelly Roll. Once this tag team goes their separate ways we could see Waller make his first singles run going after Knight. Both will certainly try to talk smack and down upon one another which could make for something interesting. Or, perhaps we see Theory try to claim the United States Championship for a third time.
