Three Potential Picks for the Bills with Their 30th Overall Selection

NFL

The 2025 NFL Draft will take place from April 24-26th. With every team trying to get the edge over the other, this is where champions are made. Meanwhile, the Buffalo Bills are looking for their first championship and hoping to build through the draft to achieve it. The Bills hold the 30th overall selection and many draft analysts have projections for that pick. Here is a list of three players who have been linked to the Bills and how they could fill out what the team needs.

DT Kenneth Grant (Michigan)

It’s no secret that the one positional need that needs to be addressed is the interior defensive line. Ed Oliver has been good but never great, DaQuan Jones will turn 34 before season’s end and Larry Ogunjobi will be coming off a six-game suspension. This six-foot-three, 331-pound lineman could be just what the Bills are looking for. Kenneth Grant is widely considered a top-three defensive tackle in this draft after three successful seasons at Michigan. The Bills would be very lucky to draft the third-team All-American at their current spot, but many mock drafts have him going to Buffalo.

DT Walter Nolen (Ole Miss)

Yet again, draft experts have a defensive tackle linked to the Bills. While Walter Nolen’s not quite as beefy as Grant at just 305 pounds, he’s shown why he was the number one recruit out of high school. A scout has described Nolen as “super twitched up and really explosive.” NFL.com even gave him the best grade out of his entire position group, so what gives? Why is he being linked to a team with the 30th pick? Unfortunately, Nolen has a lot of bad tape and only just became a dominant force in college football after transferring to Ole Miss from Texas A&M. Nonetheless, if Nolen is still on the board with Grant, Mason Graham, and Derrick Harmon all unavailable, this would be a great pick for the Bills.

CB Jahdae Barron (Texas)

Instead of sticking with the trend of Ole Miss defenders and going with Trey Amos, the Bills should go for Jahdae Barron. Amos has the size advantage and might be great for a different team, but he’s primarily played in a press-man system and Buffalo doesn’t want to make the Kaiir Elam mistake twice. Despite being under six feet tall, Barron has been an absolute dog in coverage against the top receivers in the nation. He’s been projected as a nickel corner in the NFL, but that’s selling him short as he played more than 600 snaps as an outside corner in 2024, according to PFF. The Jim Thorpe Award winner would be a fine addition to a Bills’ secondary that struggled immensely last season.
