Three Questions Heading into WrestleMania Sunday

WWE

WrestleMania XL has finally arrived, and its first night of action was not disappointing, to say the least. From seeing the Awesome Truth and A Town Down Under win the Raw and SmackDown Tag Team Championships respectively, to watching Jason Kelce and Lane Johnson helping out Rey Mysterio during his match against Santos Escobar and his son Dominik, or seeing Jey Uso defeat his brother Jimmy Uso, and to finally watch The Rock in his ‘Final Boss Form’ and his cousin the Tribal Chief Roman Reigns defeat Seth “Freaking” Rollins and Cody Rhodes in perhaps the greatest tag team match of all time, WrestleMania XL Saturday night was extremely invigorating for all wrestling fans. We still have six matches for WrestleMania Sunday, with four of them being championship matches. Let’s take a look at three questions heading into WrestleMania Sunday, while some of these questions don’t have direct answers just yet, it’s going to be interesting to see how it all goes down.

1. Is The Judgement Day Done for?

Besides Rhea Ripley retaining the WWE Women’s World Championship, every other member of The Judgement Day who participated in WrestleMania lost. Damian Priest and Finn Balor lost their Universal Tag Team Championships in the six-pack tag team ladder match, where A Town Down Under first grabbed the SmackDown titles, then a few minutes later Awesome Truth captured the Raw Tag Team titles. JD McDonagh interfered in the match on Priest and Balor’s behalf, but the plans of The Judgement Day did not fall into fruition. Even Dominik Mysterio would take a heavy loss to his father Rey, after Philadelphia Eagles legends Jason Kelce, and Lane Johnson stepped in to defeat the younger Mysterio and Santos Escobar. While we may not see how this plays out tomorrow night, sooner or later The Judgement Day will have to discuss what went wrong on WrestleMania Saturday, and telling by the tone in her voice Rhea was not too thrilled that her whole faction could not get the job done on the biggest stage.

2. How Long will Sami Zayn’s Intercontinental Championship Reign Last?

After defeating the longest reigning Intercontinental Champion of all WWE history, Gunther, the newest Intercontinental Championship Sami Zayn will have a huge target on his back. Whether Chad Gable steps to him with a challenge for the belt a few weeks from now, or Gunther looks for revenge, Zayn’s fourth reign as Intercontinental Champion won’t be an easy task to defend. Sami is a well-rounded and well-respected competitor, however, there are many rising stars in the WWE, and some may turn to Zayn to get their attention, and the respect they deserve. It’s going to certainly be interesting to see how long Zayn holds onto the title, and if he loses who will it be to?

3. Who Steps in On Cody’s Behalf?

Going into the WWE Universal Championship match between Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns, it will now be Bloodline rules with the odds being stacked against Cody once again. Reigns has his Bloodline consisting of The Rock, Jimmy Uso, Solo Sikoa, and 2024 WWE Hall of Fame inductee, the Wiseman Paul Heyman. With Rhodes not being able to get the job done with Seth “Freaking” Rollins, the biggest question regarding the main event of WrestleMania Sunday is who will be on Cody Rhodes side? Perhaps it could be another WWE Hall of Famer like Stone Cold Steve Austin, or John Cena, it could even be Rhodes’ brother Dustin, otherwise known as Goldust during his time in the WWE. Anything could happen in this matchup, but with all of these Bloodline members supporting their Tribal Chief, one question remains at bay, and that’s who will help out Cody, who will help Cody finish the story?
