Three Round Chargers Mock Draft

NFL

The highly anticipated 2025 NFL Draft in Green Bay is finally here. Front offices across the whole league look to change the trajectory of their franchises. Making the right calls in the draft is essential when trying to build a long, successful team. The Los Angeles Chargers in year one of the Joe Hortiz and Jim Harbaugh era did just that last season. In 2024, Hortiz and company made a total of nine picks, which saw four immediate starters and many players with high upside. Now, in 2025, the Chargers will have a total of 10 draft picks to play with.

In the first round with the 22nd overall pick, the Chargers have been linked to many players. Will they add to the top defensive team last season or give Justin Herbert some new weapons? At 22, the Chargers can not really go wrong. In this mock, the Chargers will select defensive lineman Kenneth Grant. He is familiar with Harbaugh from Michigan and is spoken highly of. His ability to quickly get off the line at his size is remarkable. His addition to Jesse Minter’s defense would be huge, especially since the Chargers lack big-time players on the interior defensive line.

The Chargers’ second-round pick will be the 55th overall selection in the draft. With the Chargers striking out on the big-name wide receivers that can play outside, Jayden Higgins from Iowa State would be a great pickup. He measures at 6’4 and 213 pounds, a massive weapon. Higgins has showcased reliable hands and impressive contested catch abilities. The Chargers would be a great situation for Higgins, as he would be able to learn under Mike Williams for one season.

The final pick of this mock draft for the Chargers will come in the third round at pick 86. With missing out on the elite tight ends in the first two rounds of the draft, the Chargers lucked out with Elijah Arroyo from Miami. In the offseason, the Chargers signed Tyler Conklin and already have Will Dissly. This makes Arroyo’s life much easier, as he would get to develop rather than being thrown into the fire. Arroyo has the measurables to be a great tight end in the league. He is very explosive when he has the ball and has a huge frame.

With a total of 10 draft picks, it would also not be surprising to see the Chargers trade some picks to move up in the draft. There are a lot of good quality players who can contribute to a team immediately. With a lot of holes to strengthen, the Chargers are going to be a team to look out for, especially in the trade market. Round One of the 2025 NFL Draft begins April 24th.
