Three Surprises That Could Happen at WrestleMania

WWE

WrestleMania is the WWE’s most extravagant event. The Showcase of the Immortals is filled with matches that fans have dreamed about, and under this new creative direction, the buildup to these matches has been either lackluster or brilliant. WWE tends to go all out for WrestleMania sometimes this means they give the fans what they want, or they swerve them and give them something they did not expect. Surprises can be good or bad, so let’s look at three surprises that could please fans or shock them post-WrestleMania.

Jey Uso failing to capture the World Heavyweight Championship

The World Heavyweight Championship match between Gunther and Jey Uso will kick off the show on WrestleMania Saturday. Uso earned this opportunity by winning the Royal Rumble. This is an opportunity for the WWE to capitalize on the popularity of Jey Uso right now. He is one of the top merchandise sellers, and the crowd is behind him. The popularity of the “Yeet” Movement has taken off, and after losing to the Ring General three times already, it is time for Uso to get the big win and call himself the World Heavyweight Champion. Gunther winning would do nothing but extend his reign and get him more heat as a heel. The Ring General has proven that he will remain near the main event scene, meaning he can always win the title back. However, Jey Uso is on a run similar to Daniel Bryan and Sami Zayn when they headed into WrestleMania 30 and 39, respectively. They ended up winning big that night. It is now time for Uso to have his WrestleMania moment.

Tiffany Stratton retaining the WWE Women’s Championship

An exciting matchup that needed a boost got one when Tiffany Stratton and Charlotte Flair decided to go off-script and make things personal. The anticipation for this dream match is higher than it was near the beginning. This should be a great match between these two, however, the Queen should win her 15th world championship. If Stratton were to retain, it would be the wrong call by the WWE because she is not ready for the big moment. Stratton is in the same position Rhea Ripley was heading into WrestleMania 36. She is young and popular, but not quite ready to get the star power boost it would come with beating a future legend like Flair. After Flair beat Ripley, the Eradicator had to build her character back up, and she ended up evolving into one of the most popular stars in the WWE. By the time WrestleMania 39 came around, Ripley was ready to beat Flair, and once she did, she became a megastar. That is what needs to happen to Stratton; retaining the championship does her no good, she needs to drop it, build her character up, and evolve it into something different, and maybe a couple of years down the road, if Stratton and Flair were to meet each other again, it could be Stratton walking away with the big victory.

Seth Rollins becoming a Paul Heyman Guy

The main event of WrestleMania Saturday is a Triple Threat match pitting Roman Reigns against Seth Rollins and CM Punk. The big news heading into this match is that Reigns will not have his “Wiseman” in his corner, as Heyman will be in CM Punk’s corner due to a favor he owed. Over the last two weeks, Heyman has tried to reach out to Reigns to explain himself, only to be interrupted by Rollins. The Architect even threatened to take out Heyman, only for that to be a ruse to get a favor from Heyman. So, what if Heyman capitalizes on that favor and helps Rollins win this Triple Threat match? It would not be the first time Heyman has betrayed CM Punk before, and it will not be the first time Rollins has screwed Reigns. If the Revolutionary were to become a Paul Heyman Guy, that would lead to anticipation of what this means going forward. The fans would eat this up, and the excitement level in the aftermath of WrestleMania would be at an all-time high.
