Warriors Dominate Suns, Strengthen Playoff Position

NBA

The Golden State Warriors delivered a dominant 133-95 victory over the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday night at Footprint Center. The win marked Golden State’s sixth in its last seven games and moved the team into a four-way tie for the fourth seed in the Western Conference. Stephen Curry led the way with 25 points, nine rebounds, and six assists, helping the Warriors build a lead that ballooned to 43 points. Phoenix’s losing streak extended to seven games, pushing the team closer to playoff elimination.

Curry Sets the Tone Early

Stephen Curry scored 13 points in the first quarter alone, sparking a 43-point opening frame for Golden State. He finished with 25 points on nine-of-16 shooting, adding nine rebounds and six assists in just 30 minutes. Curry’s command of the offense and rebounding presence helped the Warriors control tempo throughout. His early scoring burst helped silence the Phoenix crowd and establish a double-digit cushion.

Podziemski Adds Offensive Balance

Second-year guard Brandin Podziemski added 22 points off the bench on nine-of-12 shooting, including three-of-five from beyond the arc. His off-ball movement and efficient shot selection gave the Warriors a consistent secondary scoring option. Podziemski also contributed four rebounds and two assists in 28 minutes of action. His steady play continues to strengthen Golden State’s bench production.

Jackson-Davis Delivers Frontcourt Support

Trayce Jackson-Davis supplied 13 points and eight rebounds in 22 minutes off the bench. He was effective around the rim, converting five-of-seven shots and providing interior defense. Jackson-Davis also added two assists and one block in another reliable performance. His presence gives Golden State an increasingly dependable option behind Kevon Looney and Draymond Green.

Defense Smothers Slumping Suns

Golden State held Phoenix to just 95 points on 42% shooting while forcing 15 turnovers. The Warriors dominated the glass with a 46-36 rebounding advantage and turned defense into offense in transition. Their defensive rotations were crisp, limiting clean looks from the perimeter. The Suns were held to under 100 points for the fourth time in seven games.

Phoenix Nears Elimination

The loss dropped the Suns to 35-44, three games behind the No. 10 seed in the West with only three games left. Devin Booker led Phoenix with 21 points, but no other starter scored more than 13. The team has struggled with injuries and lineup instability during its seven-game skid. Barring a miraculous finish, Phoenix is likely to miss the postseason.

Warriors Eye Playoff Surge

At 47-32, the Warriors are now part of a four-way tie with the Clippers, Nuggets, and Grizzlies for the West’s fourth seed. Golden State owns tiebreakers over several of those teams, positioning itself well for a potential home-court advantage in the first round. The team’s recent surge, fueled by veteran leadership and reliable depth, has them trending upward. With three games remaining, Golden State controls its own seeding destiny.
